Helping Small Businesses thrive with integrated communication and collaboration apps, delivered as a service

Mid-sized and Large enterprises have been traditionally well served by telecom and IT vendors such as Verizon, Orange, IBM, HP, Microsoft and Oracle.

However, when it comes to Small Businesses, the ICT market leaves much to desire. In particular:

  • Small businesses are faced with a multitude of work tools and service to choose from, where finding and making the right choices can be difficult
  • They have little time to waste finding the right vendors, or managing contracts, licenses and subscriptions
  • They don’t have the skills and resources to manage and maintain their software and communication systems
  • There are few comprehensive, all-in-1 small business offers meeting their full set of needs

The continued development of web-based services has created new opportunities for companies of all types who can deliver the right value propositions that meet the real needs and constraints of small businesses.

Merkado has recently been working closely with a European Web start-up to design and bring to market a set of high-performance communication and collaboration services allowing small businesses to thrive, without the hassles.

During qualitative market research that we recently conducted with a panel of independent professionals and small business owners from various sectors, they told us about their current business needs, their daily challenges, and what they really need in order to grow and be successful.

In particular, they stressed the need for:

  • ICT services that are simple and that can be personalized,
  • offers that deliver tangible benefits (ex. 1 hr time saving per day, 50% reduction in IT maintenance costs), yet are cost effective,
  • and they demanded practical support to get started, and timely access to user support if/when needed.
